Really aggravated.
The gal who lived across the pavement road from me moved. She has 6 kids, 2 dogs, and a bunch of chickens. Used to have a pony, goats, and rabbits, but I haven’t seen any of those for a while. She also has a cat, but probably doesn’t call him hers.
Anyhow, they all moved a bit over 2 weeks ago. Her oldest daughter came to ask if I would feed their dogs, but that they would be coming back in 2 weeks to take them.
So, I fed the dogs for 2 weeks. I had to take lots of food over, because the chickens are hungry, too. The chickens can fight the little dogs away from the food.
One little dog disappeared the first week. He was CUTE, and still a puppy. If I didn’t already have 4 dogs… but no. So I fed the other little dog, and the chickens with some dog food just to keep them from beating up the little dog.
Those people were home over the weekend. I went over to make sure they would take their dog. I was assured that they would.
They didn’t. I didn’t feed anyone yesterday, tonight the little dog comes over. I’m like dammit… that little dog doesn’t even like me. But I take some food and water over anyhow. The cat showed up too, and as usual wouldn’t let me walk away… that poor kitty showed up after one of our major thunderstorms last year, and all our YOUNG cats led him up to our porch… but the adults ran him off. He’s such a sweetie. Wants petting business more than he wants food most of the time. He’s always very grateful for foods and petting. Not one of my cats, just one that turned up and I’d be happy to keep him here if he’d stay.
I am so aggravated. I sent an email to the local city animal control guy, but we are outside city limits. The dog is adoptable, it’s small, cute and fairly young. The chickens, well… chickens should be able to find bugs and stuff to eat. Maybe the next people that live there will want some chickens. The cat probably won’t turn up if some strangers do… he’s surely adoptable though. Just not by me. I am so mad right now that if that gal turned up I’d go SMACK her. Grrr!
I know, I have unrestricted breeding of barn cats at my house… but all my cats live here and I feed them. I take care of my pets, I don’t just get a pet and then move and hope the neighbors feed it. What kind of person does that, anyhow? ARGH! Although that gal across the road DID accidently leave one of her kids one time, it wasn’t actually her, but a friend picking the kids up from school. Kids worst nightmare… the whole family is gone and you are locked out of your house.
It has been a crappy day. Work was a big mean grizzley bear and then I got home to find out that my sweet cat Tyler got run over. I’ve never seen him near the road his whole life, but I guess between me leaving for work and Ron getting home he decided to go out there. I’m gonna miss him. Sweet Tyler boy, big giant siamese colored cat, about 10 lbs of him. Lap kitty, even to the point of being a pest. I hate living near a road like this, when it endangers my pets. :(
Had to vent. Sorry if it’s all depressing stuff.
Hugs,
Vyx

That happened to one of my friends recently. Neighbor across the street from her moved and left 2 cats behind. Actually they left one cat behind, then came back and dumped the other cat. I personally would have called the cops and reported them for abandoning the animals. My friend has adopted them. She likes cats, but is allergic, so they have to be outside cats.
just like the saying – if u can’t feed ‘em, don’t breed ‘em. Same goes for pets, if ur not gonna take care of them , don’t say “awwww” & bring ‘em home & then not take care of them. People like that are criminal, & should be hel accountable for their actions & be punished (or shot) which ever? BTW, how many kittens total do you have? tried countin’ & kept getting lost & confused. Sorry to hear about ur loss (Tyler), very sad. Sorry u were having a bad day, week actually, huh? Hugs! Peggy
Today the little black dog came looking for me again. He was going to brave the cats eating their dinner and actually came up to me and rolled over so I could rub his little belly.
So I fed him again. Sigh.
10 little kittens, 3 older kittens. 4 adult cats now.
