The week is not off to a good start.

I was late to work yesterday. I’m never late to anything… but work. I’d actually rather stay home than go in late, I always feel discombobulated the rest of the day. But of course work hates it when you do that, and I can’t afford to not have a job. So, call in, tell em I’m already late and will be even later still. I stopped for breakfast… needed food more than I needed the coffee I normally drink in the morning.

And then leave early. I did, I had to, I had an appointment that work knew about last week. Hearing test, because one of my hearing aids kicked the bucket a few weeks back and I need a replacement. The good news is that not only has my hearing not got any worse…. but I’m going to get help buying a new hearing aid.

But I think the audiologist lied when she said I did better on the word recognition than normal. I was hearing gibberish and speaking it back to her. Laughing so hard at what I was saying that my eyes started watering. I have always ruined that game of “Telephone”. The word recognition part of the hearing test is the part I always dread the most… and they always use the same set of words. If I get my hearing tested again too soon I remember the words.

One thing this audiologist didn’t do was cover her mouth/face. She just told me to look away. I found that rather odd… usually they make sure that you can’t lip read, not just trust you to not peek.

Today was no better at work… I have a co-worker that works hard at not doing any more than she thinks she should. Have a few like that, actually. Sit there doing nothing while you are working your fingers to the bone and just watch, never offer to help. Grrr. I just know the rest of the week will be like this… it always is. Couple of us do the majority of the work, the others just pretend to be busy.

Then I came home and walked dogs. BuddyMack ran off to play with the neighbor dogs. When I got him to come home I brought him in the house, he needed his harness adjusted. OMG, Ewwww dog! He’d been rolling in something. I fixed that harness and had him back out again pronto. He will get a bath on the weekend when he can stay in longer to dry off.

I’ve got plenty to do… I brought home a car FULL of sheets, towels, etc from my house to wash. My sister is coming to visit, and I offered my house (currently empty of people) to stay in. But since I haven’t been there much in 2 years it was pretty dirty and bad. My son had been living there, he’s even slacker than I am on housework. LOL!

Well, gotta get to bed…. don’t wanna be late again this week!
